Malta gambling regulator signs data sharing deal with Tennis Integrity Unit

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has established a new data sharing agreement with the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU).

The agreement follows the recent formation of the MGA's Sports Integrity Unit, which works with authorities and governing bodies to gather and share intelligence on suspicious betting activity.

The MGA and TIU have worked together for several years, with the new agreement strengthening the relationship and enhancing the prevention and investigation processes surrounding match-fixing and the manipulation of sporting events.

“The MGA has long held an excellent relationship with the TIU, but this agreement will allow the MGA and the TIU to formalise a structure to share data and information in compliance with the law, for the purposes of detecting, preventing and investigating the manipulation of sports competitions,” said MGA sports integrity officer Antonio Zerafa.
