Sweden begins testing national gambling self-exclusion system

The new national self-exclusion system for gamblers in Sweden is now available to online gaming operators for testing, ahead of its official launch on January 1st.

The new system will launch alongside the liberalised gambling market at the start of next year, enabling players to exclude themselves from all real-money account-based gambling activity at once, either for a specific period of time or indefinitely.

Players on the exclusion list must then be blocked from gambling and not be subject to direct marketing.

The system is now available to operators in a test environment with technical documentation and API specifications.
