European gambling regulators take aim at unlicensed operators

European gambling regulators have set their sights on online payment processors who provide services to unlicensed operators.

The regulators of Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Portugal and Spain met last week in Paris to discuss customer interaction, player identification, and the prevention of betting related manipulation of sporting competitions.

They also agreed to deepen their cooperation with respect to online payment processors who provide services to gambling providers that illegally target players in the regulated markets without the appropriate license.

The next meeting of regulators will be held in Madrid in spring 2019.
