Vermantia first virtual sports supplier to secure Romanian licence

Greek gaming developer Vermantia has become the first virtual sports software provider to be certified to offer its games in the Romanian market.

The country's National Gambling Office (ONJN) has awarded Vermantia a B2B licence, with the supplier joining the likes of Playtech and payment processors Worldpay and SafeCharge in being licensed in Romania.

Romania's new gambling regulations were passed in March, establishing a clear legislative framework for land-based and online operators, and followed the awarding of the country's first online operating licences in January.

"We are delighted to become the first company to receive this license for our software and content in Romania," Vermantia regional sales director Carlos Silva commented.

"We have already established strong relationships with some of the most acknowledged operators and we will be soon launching premium virtual gaming channels with market leaders Superbet and Getsbet.

"Our license in the Romanian gaming market proves Vermantia’s continuous effort and evolution within the last two transformational years," Silva added
