NetEnt expands into Romanian under new local licence

Swedish casino games developer NetEnt has obtained a licence from Romania's gambling regulator, allowing it to supply operators in the market with its online casino content.

NetEnt has obtained a Class 2 licence from Romania's National Gambling Office (ONJN), covering the production and distribution of specialised gaming software, as well as iGaming management and hosting facilities.

Expansion into regulated markets is an important part of NetEnt's growth strategy, the supplier explained. For a number of years it has been investing in technology and expertise to adapt its business for regulated markets, holding licences and certifications in an increasing number of territories worldwide.

It joins the likes of Playtech and Vermantia in securing a supplier licence in the country, with the first approvals awarded by the ONJN in April.
